Wayne Bainton

President and Founder

After working in the field of pathology doing electron microscopy, Wayne decided he needed a new challenge. An owner of multiple shops called Postal Instant Press (PIP), a national printing franchise with corporate offices based in Los Angeles, was looking for a manager to run his Rhode Island based facility, and through an associate he was chosen for the position. Five years later he was asked to become a district manager for the national franchise. Because he was newly married and had just welcomed their new born son Joshua, he was concerned about the amount of time he would be away. With the support of family and friends he made the decision to open his own printing company. In May of 1980, PDQ Printing and Copying, Inc. was born.

The small shop on Broadway in Newport RI offered offset printing, full service copy center and graphic design. Today the company has grown to a commercial printing company offering 5 color printing with state of the art prepress capabilities, graphic design, and full service digital color and black and white reproduction. Our 7000 square foot production facility is located in Middletown Rhode Island, and the original shop is still located on Broadway in Newport Rhode Island. Wayne, the president and CEO, of PDQ looks forward to new challenges and ways to facilitate his customers in the coming years. He is also happy to have that new born son Joshua by his side at PDQ 25 years later.

Linda Bainton

Treasurer and Principle

Linda started her career in the pathology laboratories working at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University. Being in similar fields at the hospital Linda met Wayne through fellow associates at the hospital. She maintained this career on and off through the births of their children and helped Wayne with the bookkeeping for PDQ. Between raising two small children and Wayne working long hours the early years of the business were very hectic. By working as a team Wayne and Linda managed to spend quality time with their children and grow the business, thanks to some truly great past and present employees working by our side building this business to what it is today and will be tomorrow.

Linda joined the team at PDQ on a full time basis in 1990. She is involved with customer relations, sales promotions, production and estimating. She was on the board of directors of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce for six years. Since Joshua has joined the team PDQ has become a true family owned organization.

Josh Bainton

Managing Director

It's an honor when the 2nd generation decides that he wants to join the family business and we couldn't be more proud.

Josh graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a degree in business and an emphasis in finance. He spent 2 years as the assistant manager of athletics at the Racquet and Tennis Club on Park Ave. in New York before he was hired as the General Manager at the National Tennis Club, located on the grounds of The International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, RI. During his tenure at the National Tennis Club, he helped the club through a $350,000 expansion and successfully ran the 2004 Real Tennis World Championship, the oldest World Championship in the history of Sport.

More recently Josh spent 2 years working in the Investment Banking department at Capstone Investments. His responsibilities included the marketing of hedge funds, sourcing deals for the investment banking arm and helping conduct the necessary due diligence to close transactions. His experience in the financial markets is a necessary tool for our growth here at PDQ Printing.

Josh's responsibilities at PDQ will be to enhance business development and work closely with our clients to help achieve their goals.
